Cinema ticketing software for UK cinemas
The best cinema ticketing software for most UK cinemas is Filmgrail on top of the box office you already run. Keep Savoy Systems, Admit One, Tapos, Spektrix, Ticketsolve, Veezi or Vista at the counter, and let Filmgrail run your branded website, native iOS and Android apps and online checkout, at a flat price per screen with no per-ticket fees.
Cinema software in the United Kingdom: what cinemas run today
UK exhibition runs on a handful of regional specialists rather than one national standard. In our September crawl of 75 UK cinema websites, these were the systems their booking links pointed to, alongside the other systems UK venues run.
| System | What it is | UK sites in our crawl | Filmgrail runs on top |
|---|---|---|---|
| Savoy Systems (Oscar) | Ticketing, retail, membership and marketing system from Nottingham, used by 120 venues | 31 | Yes, integrated |
| Admit One | Cinema and venue POS suite: kiosks, F&B, digital sales, back office and loyalty | 12 | Yes, integrated |
| Tapos (Jacro, Jack Roe) | Cinema ticketing and PoS with F&B, CRM, loyalty and membership; names WTW-Scott Cinemas among its customers | 9 | Yes, integrated |
| Spektrix | Ticketing, CRM, marketing and fundraising for arts venues, with 825 clients across the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand | 3 | Yes, integrated |
| Ticketsolve | Ticketing, CRM and fundraising for arts and cultural organisations in the UK and Ireland | Not measured | Yes, integrated |
| MyCloudCinema | Cloud cinema POS from Dublin; names The Cinema in the Power Station and The Cinema at Selfridges in London | Not in the UK top four | Yes, integrated |
| Veezi | Cloud cinema software for independents, a Vista Group company | Not in the UK top four | Yes, integrated |
| Vista | Enterprise cinema management; Vista reports installs in more than 80 countries | Circuits count once | Yes, integrated |
Crawl: UK cinema websites linking to each system's booking domain, 24 September 2026; a circuit counts once however many screens it has, so read this as who serves independents, not market share. Vendor facts checked on each vendor's own website on 26 September 2026. Vendors change their products; confirm anything decision-critical with them directly.
What that table means for a UK cinema
Every system in that table is a box office first. Each one also offers some kind of online sale — a booking website inside Oscar, Admit One's Digital Sales module, a Tapos iFrame or WordPress plugin, Spektrix and Ticketsolve booking pages — but for all of them the website is one module in a larger product. At Filmgrail it is the whole product.
That is why we do not ask you to leave any of them. Filmgrail reads your programme, sessions, seat maps and prices from the box office and writes each completed sale back, so the counter, the bar, memberships and film-hire reporting stay exactly where they are. If you are weighing up a move, read our comparisons first: Savoy Systems alternatives, Admit One alternatives, Tapos alternatives, Spektrix alternatives, Ticketsolve alternatives and Veezi alternatives.
Why UK cinemas choose Filmgrail
UK audiences compare your website with the national circuits and with streaming apps, not with other independents. Filmgrail gives an independent, an arts centre or a regional circuit the same kind of digital front door.
Your brand, not a shared booking page
Your own website on your own domain, with a proper page for every film, your seasons and events, and a checkout in your colours. Not a generic ticketing page that looks the same for every venue on the system.
Native iOS and Android apps included
Your cinema on the moviegoer's home screen, running on the same CMS as the website, with push when a saved film goes on sale. Most cinemas have no app at all; in our crawl only 7% of cinema websites linked to one.
Flat price, no per-ticket fees
From $200 to $20,000 a year, flat per screen. Our price does not rise with your attendance, so a sold-out weekend costs you nothing extra.
Your box office stays
Filmgrail reads films, sessions, seats and prices from the box office you already run and writes each sale back. No counter migration, no retraining, no change to your reporting.
Live in weeks
A few weeks when we already integrate your box office and payment provider; about a month when we connect a new one.
Loyalty, push and Insights built in
Member pricing, push campaigns and audience analytics in the same customer record as the sale, plus a planning tool for your programme and a festival platform if you run one.
The UK market, and who you are up against
The UK is Europe's second-largest cinema market by box office in our data: £996.8m and 123.5 million admissions in 2025, across 4,563 screens, according to the BFI figures in our global box office research. The national circuits have the apps and the loyalty schemes: Vue International, headquartered in the UK, runs 2,001 screens across eight countries, and Everyman runs 171 screens on 49 sites (see the largest cinema chains).
An independent does not win that fight on screen count. It wins on being the local cinema with the better programme, and it needs a website and an app that make that programme easy to buy. In our crawl of cinema websites, only 7% linked to an app and only 4% marked up their showtimes for search engines. That gap is the opportunity.
UK moviegoers expect to pay with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and often PayPal. We integrate your payment provider rather than forcing ours on you.
Proof: who runs on Filmgrail
We will be straight with you: we do not yet have a UK cinema live. The closest comparables are English-language circuits and the kind of mixed-programme venues the UK is full of. Classic Cinemas runs around sixteen theatres in the Chicago area, from restored historic single screens to recliner multiplexes, on Filmgrail. Wallis Cinemas, a family-owned independent in South Australia for over seventy years, runs its website on Filmgrail. Ster-Kinekor, southern Africa's largest circuit, runs website, ticketing and loyalty on it.
For arts centres, the Norwegian cultural venues are the better comparison: Vega Scene in Oslo and Rådhus-Teatret sell film alongside stage and events, much like a UK arts centre on Spektrix or Ticketsolve. And for festivals, Bergen International Film Festival runs on our festival platform.
Being early in the UK has an upside for you: the first UK cinemas get our full attention during setup.
Where UK exhibitors meet
The UK Cinema Association represents operators across the country and holds an annual conference in London. Independents meet at the Independent Cinema Office's Screening Days, the BFI Film Audience Network hubs and Cinema For All events. We list 42 cinema industry events in the United Kingdom, with dates where the organiser has published them.
Published pricing in US dollars, from a single screen to a large circuit.
We never take a cut of your tickets. Every online sale costs the same as the last.
A few weeks if we already integrate your box office and payment provider; about a month for a new one.
The same flat logic for festivals: website, apps, passes and ticketing, no per-ticket fee.
Pricing and setup
Pricing is published and flat: from $200 a year for a single screen to $20,000 a year for a large circuit, per screen, with no per-ticket fees (see pricing). A mid-size film festival pays about $5,000 a year. If we already integrate your box office and payment provider you can be live in a few weeks; a provider we have not connected before takes about a month.
See your own cinema on it before you talk to anyone: the free cinema website prototype builds a version of your site from its current address. Then book a demo against your real programme.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best cinema ticketing software in the UK?
For what your audience sees, Filmgrail. Keep the box office you already run, whether Savoy Systems, Admit One, Tapos, Spektrix, Ticketsolve, Veezi or Vista, and put Filmgrail's branded website, native iOS and Android apps and checkout on top, for a flat price per screen with no per-ticket fees. If you need a new box office itself, Savoy Systems, Admit One and Tapos lead among UK independents in our crawl.
Does Filmgrail work with Savoy Systems?
Yes. Filmgrail is integrated with Savoy Systems' Oscar. It reads programme, sessions, seating and prices from Oscar and writes each sale back, so admissions, the bar, memberships and reporting stay in Oscar.
Does it also work with Admit One, Tapos and Spektrix?
Yes. Filmgrail integrates with Admit One, Tapos (Jack Roe), Veezi, Vista and MyCloudCinema, with Spektrix and Ticketsolve available on demand. With an existing integration you can be live in a few weeks.
How much does Filmgrail cost for a UK cinema?
From $200 a year for a single screen to $20,000 a year for a large circuit, flat per screen, with no per-ticket fees. Prices are set in US dollars. A mid-size film festival pays about $5,000 a year.
Are any UK cinemas on Filmgrail yet?
Not yet. Filmgrail runs cinemas and festivals in Norway, Sweden, the US, Australia and South Africa, including Classic Cinemas near Chicago, Wallis Cinemas in South Australia and Ster-Kinekor. UK cinemas joining now get our full attention during setup.
Can a UK arts centre or film festival use Filmgrail?
Yes. Venues that mix film with stage and events run on Filmgrail in Norway, and festivals use our festival platform for programme, passes, apps and ticketing. It sits on top of Spektrix or Ticketsolve if that is what you run.
