Ireland's cinemas split into two worlds. Arts centres and film-led venues often sell through arts ticketing such as Ticketsolve or Spektrix, which are built around the live arts organisation and its supporters. Commercial cinemas run cinema box offices such as MyCloudCinema, Veezi or Vista. Both worlds leave the same gap: the website and app a moviegoer actually uses are a module of a box office, not a product in their own right.

We do not yet have an Irish cinema live, and we will not pretend otherwise. The closest comparables: Wallis Cinemas, a family-owned independent circuit in South Australia for over seventy years, and Classic Cinemas, around sixteen theatres in the Chicago area mixing restored historic houses with multiplexes. Pricing is published and flat: from $200 a year for a single screen to $20,000 a year for a large circuit, per screen, with no per-ticket fees (see pricing). A mid-size film festival pays about $5,000 a year.
