Cinema ticketing software for Finnish cinemas

Finland's 188 cinemas are spread across 124 towns, so in many places the local cinema is the only one for miles. Its competition is not the multiplex across the street; it is the sofa, and the circuit's own booking channels.

We will be straight with you: we do not yet have a Finnish cinema live. The closest comparables are in Norway, where many towns likewise have a single cinema and long distances to the next one. Aurora Kino runs several cinemas across northern Norway on one Filmgrail CMS, app and checkout, with local programming in each town. Hitra Kino is a single island cinema on the same platform as Bergen Kino's 18 halls and Trondheim Kino's 19.

In Sweden, Bio Bristol runs its website and ticketing on Filmgrail, and festivals such as BIFF use our festival platform. The first Finnish cinemas get our full attention during setup.

Finland had 6.3 million cinema admissions and €85.8 million in box office in 2025, across 188 cinemas with 383 screens in 124 towns, according to the Finnish Film Foundation's Facts & Figures 2025. That is 1.1 admissions per person, with domestic films taking 32% of the audience. Finnkino's 170 screens are over 40% of the national total (see the largest cinema chains), which is exactly why every other cinema needs its own channel.

Pricing is published and flat: from $200 a year for a single screen to $20,000 a year for a large circuit, per screen, with no per-ticket fees (see pricing). A mid-size film festival pays about $5,000 a year.
