Cinema ticketing software for Spain

The best cinema ticketing software for most Spanish cinemas is Filmgrail on top of the ICAA-approved box office you already run. Keep your taquilla system at the counter, and let Filmgrail run your own branded website, native iOS and Android apps and online checkout, for a flat price per screen with no per-ticket fees.

Cinema software in Spain: what cinemas run today

Spanish cinemas sell through a box office approved by the ICAA, the film institute that collects box office data. The large circuits run Vista; independents and regional groups run Spanish systems.

Our September 2026 crawl does not publish a Spanish breakdown, so this table lists systems by what each vendor says about its own Spanish installs. Vendor facts checked on each vendor's own website (vista.co, kinetike.es, eventim.es) on 26 September 2026. Vendors change their products; confirm anything decision-critical with them directly.

What that means for a Spanish cinema

Your ICAA-approved taquilla is what keeps your box office returns compliant, and there is rarely a good reason to change it. Filmgrail does not. We read films, sessions, seats and prices from your box office and write each online sale back, so the counter and the ICAA reporting stay exactly as they are.

What changes is everything your audience sees. Several Spanish systems sell websites and apps alongside the box office; Filmgrail is built for nothing else. You get an editorial website with its own CMS, film pages built to rank for a film in your town, native apps with push and loyalty, and a checkout measured on completion rate. Circuits on Vista can start from our Vista integration; read Vista alternatives and Filmgrail vs Vista for the detail.

Why Spanish cinemas choose Filmgrail

The national circuits sell under national brands. Filmgrail gives an independent or regional Spanish cinema the same digital tools under its own name, without replacing the taquilla.

Your brand, not a shared booking page

Your own website on your own domain, a proper page for every film, your seasons and events, and a checkout in your colours. Not a booking page that looks the same for every venue on the system.

Native iOS and Android apps included

Your cinema on the moviegoer's home screen, on the same CMS as the website, with push when a saved film goes on sale. In our crawl of 1,189 cinema websites, only 7% linked to an app.

Flat price, no per-ticket fees

From $200 to $20,000 a year, flat per screen. Our price does not rise with your attendance, and we never take a cut of a ticket.

Your box office stays

Filmgrail sits in front of your ICAA-approved box office. It reads films, sessions, seats and prices and writes each sale back, so the counter, your ICAA returns and your reporting do not change.

Live in weeks

A few weeks when we already integrate your box office and payment provider; about a month when we connect a new one.

Loyalty, push and Insights built in

Member pricing, push campaigns and audience analytics in the same customer record as the sale, plus a planning tool for your programme and a festival platform if you run one.

The Spanish market

UNIC reports a 2025 Spanish box office of €453m, down 3%, on 65m admissions, down 11% (see European cinema statistics). Cinesa, part of AMC's Odeon Cinemas Group, runs 411 screens on 35 sites (see the largest cinema chains). A falling admissions year is when a cinema's own channel matters most: the regular who gets a push from you is not browsing a marketplace.

Spanish moviegoers expect Bizum alongside cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We integrate your payment provider rather than forcing ours on you. Content and interface strings are translatable in the CMS, so a cinema can run in Spanish and Catalan, Basque or Galician.

The exhibitors' federation FECE is chaired by Álvaro Postigo, general director of MK2 in Spain. Barcelona hosts CineEurope, UNIC's official convention, and the Europa Cinemas Network Conference from 26 to 29 November 2026. We list cinema industry events in Spain and the people behind its associations in who's who in cinema.

Proof: who runs on Filmgrail

We do not yet have a Spanish cinema live. The closest comparables: Bergen Kino runs 18 halls with its website, native apps and online ticketing on Filmgrail, and Ster-Kinekor, southern Africa's largest circuit, runs its website, ticketing and loyalty on the same platform. Classic Cinemas runs around sixteen theatres in the Chicago area, from restored single screens to multiplexes.

Spain's festivals are a natural fit for our festival platform, which runs BIFF, Norway's largest film festival.

$200–$20,000
a year, flat per screen

Published pricing in US dollars, from a single screen to a large circuit.

$0
per-ticket fees

We never take a cut of your tickets. A sold-out weekend costs you nothing extra.

Weeks
to go live

A few weeks if we already integrate your box office and payment provider; about a month for a new one.

~$5,000
a year for a mid-size festival

Festival website, apps, passes and ticketing on the same flat logic, with no per-ticket fee.

Pricing and setup

Pricing is published and flat: from $200 a year for a single screen to $20,000 a year for a large circuit, per screen, with no per-ticket fees (see pricing). Prices are in US dollars. A mid-size film festival pays about $5,000 a year. If we already integrate your box office and payment provider you can be live in a few weeks; a system we have not connected before takes about a month, and we confirm the scope in writing before anything is signed.
