How to read a vendor's own comparison page

Including this one. Every comparison written by a vendor is built around the axis where that vendor wins, and the honest version of the genre is simply one that tells you which axis it chose.

Ours is this: Filmgrail is the moviegoer-facing digital layer — website, native apps, CMS, online checkout, loyalty and audience data — and it runs on top of the box office system you already have. If what you need is a new back office, a new counter POS or a film-booking and settlement engine, the systems on these pages do that and we do not. If what you need is for the thing your audience touches to stop looking like software from 2009, that is the whole of our argument.

When you evaluate anyone, including us, insist on the same three things: a session driven against your programme rather than a demo dataset, a written note of what the integration with your current box office actually involves, and a reference call with a cinema of roughly your size in roughly your market.
