A premium format is a licensing arrangement as much as a technology: the exhibitor invests in the room to the licensor's specification, and in return gets a brand the audience recognises and a ticket price the audience accepts.
The part most exhibitors underinvest in is the selling. A premium auditorium flattened into a row of times on a listings page captures none of the premium it was built for, which is an argument for owning the booking journey rather than renting it from a marketplace.
