An independent cinema or mixed arts venue usually has the most interesting programme in its town and the least ability to express it online. Seasons, strands, one-off screenings, Q&As, live broadcast, a bar, a membership — all of it flattened into a chronological list of things with dates.

The cost is not aesthetic. A film page that carries the certificate, the runtime, the trailer, the synopsis and structured data is a page that can rank for that film plus your town. A row in an events listing cannot. For a venue whose audience is local, that search traffic is the marketing budget.
