Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC)

AIMC is run by Cinema Association Australasia and, in 2026, reaches its 79th edition at The Star Gold Coast. It plays the role CinemaCon plays in the US: the week when the distributors present their slates to the people who will book them.

The organiser lists distributor presentations from Universal, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros, Walt Disney Studios, Amazon MGM and Sony Pictures, with the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia and the Australian Independent Distributors Association also showcasing line-ups. The 2026 edition includes the Australian and New Zealand launch of Amazon MGM Studios.

Delegate registration covers all conference sessions, distributor presentations, exclusive screenings, the trade exhibition, networking events and social functions. The programme also includes keynotes, panels, a leadership series, a Filmmaker Masterclass and industry awards.

Published prices (Australian dollars, including processing fees and GST): full registration $1,300 at the early-bird rate, which ended 20 September; single-day passes from $600; the Filmmaker Masterclass $125. Discounted rooms at The Star Gold Coast are offered to delegates in limited numbers.
