UNIC Cinema Days

UNIC, the European federation of cinema trade associations and operators, runs Cinema Days each year in Brussels. It describes the event as two days of debates, workshops and social activities for an exclusive group of senior executives, deliberately held away from the distractions of a large convention. It is not a trade show and there is no product floor; UNIC's large-format event is CineEurope.

The 2025 edition ran on 20–21 November 2025 and, according to UNIC, drew a record number of attendees at a new location.

Day one mixed keynote debates between circuit and studio executives with sessions on the cinema value proposition, anti-piracy work, staff training, accessibility and sustainability, and it opened with a closed meeting of UNIC's Women's Cinema Leadership Programme. Day two split into a Marketing Lab and a Technology Lab: turning occasional visits into habits, audiences aged over 50, direct marketing of unsold seats, and practical uses of AI in scheduling, programming and customer insight.

That mix is the reason an operator would go: it is a candid, cross-border view of what European exhibitors are trying in marketing and operations, in a room small enough to talk to the people presenting.

As of 26 September 2026 UNIC had not published dates for the 2026 Cinema Days. Attendance is aimed at UNIC members and partners; UNIC does not publish a public ticket price, so contact UNIC or your national association (most European exhibitor associations are UNIC members) about invitations.
