What FILMART is
FILMART is a trade-only market run by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. It covers film, television and wider entertainment content, and is designed to position Hong Kong as a regional hub for distribution and production in Asia-Pacific. InvestHK reports that the 2025 edition had more than 760 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions and more than 7,600 industry participants.
The 2027 edition runs 15–18 March in Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Admission is trade only, and visitors under 18 are not admitted.
For exhibitors: a sales market
Like the EFM and the Marché du Film, FILMART is primarily a sales market for distributors and rights holders, and a large share of the activity is television and streaming. For most cinema operators it is not essential.
It is more relevant to Asian circuits and independent cinemas that buy films directly, to exhibitor-distributors sourcing Chinese-language and wider Asian titles, and to programmers of Asian film seasons. Participant registration is done online through the HKTDC FILMART site.
