Procella Audio

Procella began in 2005 when two directors of DTS Europe, Anders Uggelberg and Gerben van Duyl, built a speaker system for a 32-seat DTS preview theatre outside London. The company launched commercially the following year, and in 2009 established Swedish manufacturing with its own factory, hand-building components including crossovers.

The design priority is high output from a compact cabinet, which is why the systems turn up in screening rooms, post-production mixing stages and premium auditoriums rather than across a whole multiplex — rooms where the acoustic result matters more than the unit cost.

Note on location: the company is frequently still listed as Swedish, including in association records. Headquarters moved to Belgium in 2024 under new ownership, while product development remains in Sweden with co-founder Anders Uggelberg.
