For an exhibitor the arithmetic resembles recliners: a section of D-BOX seats sells at a supplement, so the question is whether the uplift covers the installation and the seats it displaces. It works best as a section within a normal auditorium rather than a whole room, which keeps the title-availability risk manageable.

As with any premium format, the revenue depends on being able to sell the difference at the point of booking. A seat map that does not distinguish a motion seat from a standard one gives the premium away.
